Privacy Policy

traain is an AI fitness coaching app. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what happens to it. The short version: we collect your training data to coach you with it, we don't sell it, we don't show you ads, and you can delete everything from inside the app at any time.

What we collect

• Account information.You sign in with Sign in with Apple. We receive your name (if you share it) and your email address (or Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide it). There is no password.
• Profile and training data. Your training goal, experience level, focus areas, baseline lifts, personal records, logged workouts, and workout results.
• Photos and videos. Workout photos you capture (for example, a whiteboard) and lift videos you send for review (up to 30 seconds). These are stored privately and are only accessible to your account.
• Coach conversations. Messages you exchange with the AI coach, so the coach can keep context across sessions.
• Feedback. If you send feedback through the app, we store it and track it in our development tools so we can respond.
• Purchase information. Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details — we only receive your subscription status (for example, whether Premium is active).
• Diagnostics. Error logs when something goes wrong, so we can fix it. These are tied to your account ID, not your name.

How we use your data

• To provide coaching: analyzing workouts, reviewing lift videos, predicting times, and answering your questions with your history as context.
• To track your progress: PRs, trends, and benchmarks over time.
• To operate the service: authentication, subscriptions, and fixing bugs.
• To respond when you contact us or send feedback.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising of any kind.

AI processing

traain's coaching is powered by third-party AI providers. Workout text and photos are processed by OpenAI, and lift videos are processed by Google, solely to generate your analysis and feedback. We use these providers' business APIs, which do not use your data to train their models.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers needed to run traain: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Railway (server hosting), RevenueCat (subscription status), OpenAI and Google (AI processing as described above), and Apple (sign-in and payments). Each processes your data only to provide their service to us.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, workouts, photos, videos, conversations, and records are all removed. Deleting your account does not cancel an active Apple subscription — manage that in your App Store settings.

Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Photos and videos live in private storage buckets accessible only to your authenticated account, and every API request is verified against your session.

Children

traain is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, let us know through the app's feedback form and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continued use of traain after a change means you accept the updated policy.
